The World Bulgarian Convention will be held on 17-20 May 2012 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the world capital of genealogy. The aims of the World Bulgarian Convention are to gather together Bulgarians and non-Bulgarian guests from all over the world for discussions, mutual exchange of information, and development of the Bulgarian global network of communication and interactions, as well as presenting the Bulgarian culture and sport before Americans as a means of development of active interactions, global humanity, solidarity and integrity. How can you participate in the World Bulgarian Convention? Attending the event without special participation Participating in different sessions, shows and other events during the World Bulgarian Convention and/or offering a specific event Sponsoring the World Bulgarian Convention or a specific Convention event or co-event Giving a reception during the Convention Organizing groups to attend the Convention Organizing a co-event in Bulgaria or in another country Publishing information about the World Bulgarian Convention Documenting the World Bulgarian Convention WORLD BULGARIAN CONVENTION CULTURE, MEDIA, TOURISM, SPORT AND INTEGRITY 17-20 MAY, 2012, SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, USA Registration fee for all participants who will not take part in any of the Convention events but will receive a Convention participation card: $45.00. The initial list of events during the Convention includes: SYMPOSIA AND SESSIONS 17-20 MAY 2012, SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH General topics Enculturation in the 21st century and the global world Media and enculturation Media and traditional culture The USA in the Bulgarian media Bulgaria in the US media Archaeology, media and cultural tourism Bulgaria as a country of the world tourism Bulgarian genealogy Tracing our ancestors in Bulgaria National idea in the global world Sport in the globalizing world Perspectives of development of the Bulgarian-American cultural exchange Problems of development of the cultural tourism in the USA and in Bulgaria and other topics offered by the participants. Deadline to offer a session: 30 May 2011. Deadline for register for participation: 30 June 2011. Participation fee: $ 80.00 for participants outside Bulgaria and other countries from Eastern Europe; $30.00 for participants from Bulgaria and other countries from Eastern Europe The organizers will provide you with rooms and power point projectors. EXPO BULGARIA HANDCRAFT, ART AND SMALL BUSINESS PRODUCTS 17-20 MAY 2012, SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH The Expo will focus on art, handcraft and small (especially family oriented) business products. To participate in the Expo, you need to fill out and application form. Participation fee: $ 100.00 and up for both days (depending on the space) Deadline to request a space: 30 May 2011. THE BULGARIAN CULTURE IN THE SALT LAKE CITY STREETS, CAFÉS, GALLERIES, SCHOOLS AND OPEN PRIVATE HOMES 19 MAY 2012 One day parade and shows of the Bulgarian culture and sport in the Salt Lake City streets, cafes, galleries and open private homes. The parade and shows are thought to include Bulgarian dance groups, art groups, individual artists, representatives of cultural clubs, and cultural houses other institutions, sport groups, carnival, etc. To participate in the parade and in the shows, you need to fill out an application form. BULGARIAN AND AMERICAN SPORT STARS IN INTERACTION American- Bulgarian sport games will be organized during the Convention We suggest you to contact the local travel agencies who will organize groups to the USA to attend and participate in the World Bulgarian Convention. There will be network of cultural events before, during and after the Convention in different cities in the USA (Chicago, Phoenix, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Austin, etc.).
